Purpose of this page

The Cultured Cohort ("Company," "we," "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our Members while cooperating with legitimate law enforcement requests as required by law. This page explains the types of legal process we require, how to submit a request, and how we respond to emergency situations involving risk of harm.

This page is intended for law enforcement agencies, government entities, and legal professionals. Members with questions about their own data should refer to our Privacy Policy or contact us directly at match@culturedcohort.com.

Information we may hold

Depending on a Member's use of the Services, the Company may hold: application and profile information; contact information (name, email, phone number); payment records (processed through third-party processors; the Company does not directly store full payment card numbers); records of introductions made; and communications between Members and the Company. The Company does not operate a messaging platform between Members and generally does not retain the content of Member-to-Member communications, as introductions are typically facilitated off-platform.

Types of legal process we require

The Company requires valid, properly served legal process appropriate to the type of information sought, consistent with applicable law:

1. Subpoena. May be used to request basic subscriber/applicant information (name, email, phone number, dates of application or membership).
2. Court Order (18 U.S.C. § 2703(d) or equivalent). May be used to request additional non-content records, such as records of introductions or fee transactions.
3. Search Warrant. Required to request the content of any communications or application materials in the Company's possession.
4. National Security Requests. Handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable law; the Company will respond as legally required and may be subject to nondisclosure obligations.

All legal process must be issued by a court or agency of competent jurisdiction and must comply with applicable federal and New York law.

How to submit a request

Law enforcement requests should be submitted in writing to:

• The legal process (subpoena, court order, or warrant) referencing the specific Member(s) or account(s) at issue, with sufficient identifying information (full name, email address, or application date) to locate the record;
• A return contact name, agency, phone number, and email address;
• A reasonable timeframe for response consistent with the process served.

The Company will acknowledge receipt and respond within the timeframe required by the applicable legal process, or as promptly as reasonably possible.

Data preservation requests

Upon receipt of a valid preservation request under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f), the Company will preserve existing records pending receipt of formal legal process for up to ninety (90) days, and will extend this period upon a reasonable, timely request.

Notice to Members

Except where prohibited by law, gag order, or court order, or where the Company determines that notice would jeopardize an investigation or risk harm to a person, the Company's practice is to notify the affected Member of a request for their information prior to disclosure.

Cost reimbursement

The Company is a small business and reserves the right to seek reimbursement of reasonable costs associated with responding to burdensome or extensive legal process, to the extent permitted by law.

No waiver

Nothing in this page waives any objection the Company may have to the scope, validity, or burden of any legal process, and the Company reserves all rights to challenge legal process it believes is improper, overbroad, or unlawful.
